PHILADELPHIA (-7) vs Tennessee

Philadelphia didn’t look good in last week’s 24-22 win over Washington, as the Eagles had a negative -1.4 net EPA and a negative net success rate (35.3% to 43.3%) for the game. The defense looks fine but a 35% success rate on offense is a concern despite the 6.0 yards per play the Eagles averaged.

Tennessee, however, looked even worse than projected. I expected, as the betting market did, that the Titans would be improved offensively in Cam Ward’s second season as quarterback, but that was not the case. Ward looked horrible in the preseason and averaged an abysmal 3.6 yards per pass play at home against the Jets.

The Titans’ defense was horrible too, as they allowed 0.17 EPA per play and a 50% success rate to what was expected to be a worse than average Jets’ offense.

My ratings favor Philly by 7.9 points with 40.4 total points.
