Army is 2-0 with a win over Temple getting them some notice in week 1, but Temple isn’t all that good UTEP’s improvement seems to have been overlooked. The smart money hasn’t overlooked it though, as the line has come down from an opening number of 6 points, but my preseason ratings favored Army by just 2 points and I also get 2 points using this season’s data only. The reason I’m calling for the upset is a 60-15-2 ATS bounce-back situation that applies to the Miners based on last week’s 7-41 loss to Texas. That score was misleading, as the stats would suggest a 23 point loss, and UTEP did handle New Mexico State 38-22 in their opener while outgaining the Aggies 513 yards at 345 yards in that game. I like UTEP in a mini-upset.
