• The Rams can get the 5 seed with a win and a 49ers loss.
• This game is now being priced as if the Rams will play their starters the entire game.
• Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay stated the starters would play after the Monday Night Football loss to Atlanta: “No, they were going to play anyway,” McVay said. “We need to play. We need to play better football. So, I don’t know what the consequences are in those different types of things, but we’ve got to play better.”
• However, historically, McVay has basically never played for seeding in the last week of the season, so it’s hard to take him at his word that he said after a frustrating loss last Monday night.
• If the Rams played their starters the entire game, then the model would favor the Rams by 13.9 points. The situation does favor the Cardinals. who apply to a 116-48-3 ATS situation that is 9-3 in the final week of the season on teams out of playoff contention.
• If your pool has a line of -12 or less then I suggest the Rams. At +12.5 or more then I’d rather have Arizona based on the situation.
