Virginia (-1.5)  30   WAKE FOREST  25

Virginia (-1.5) 32 WAKE FOREST 25 (with Armstrong at QB for UVA)

My guess is that Lindell Stone starts at quarterback for Virginia in place of Brennan Armstrong, who suffered a concussion early in last week’s game. Armstrong’s numbers are bad but Stone appears to be worse based on last week’s 4.4 yards per pass play on 54 pass plays against NC State in relief. However, even with a project of just 5.0 yppp for Stone against Wake Forest’s sub-par pass defense I still like Virginia to win this game because of their defense. Wake Forest has been 0.3 yppl below average offensively (5.6 yppl with starters in against teams that would allow 5.9 yppl) while Virginia has a solid defense that’s yielded just 5.6 yppl to Duke, Clemson and NC State, who would combine to average 6.3 yppl against an average defense.
