Louisiana-Lafayette (-15)  38   GEORGIA STATE  22

ULL’s 31-14 win at Iowa State was not a fluke, as the Ragin’ Cajuns outplayed the Cyclones on a yards per play basis (4.9 yppl to 4.1 yppl) and shut down one of the nation’s best quarterbacks in Brock Purdy (16 of 35 passing and just 3.9 yards per pass play). Louisiana-Lafayette could suffer a letdown, although there is no historical evidence that they will (road favorites of 7 or more after winning as an underdog of 7 points or more are 47-47-1 ATS) and Georgia State is an experienced team with 16 returning starters. However, the Panthers are also breaking in a new starting quarterback in Cornelius Brown that looked horrible in limited action last season (11 of 28 passing) and ULL’s pass defense will make it tough on the Panthers’ new signal-caller. I do expect Georgia State to run the ball pretty well though, so they should have some offensive success. I’ll pass.
