Miami-Ohio (+1)  21   NORTHERN ILLINOIS  20

Northern Illinois has had to play their 3rd and 4th string quarterbacks the last 3 games (and apparently the rest of the season) and their two star running backs, Waylee and Brown, were both out last week and are questionable tonight. Those two have combined for 1455 yards at 5.7 ypr this season and freshman Jaiden Cradle averaged just 3.8 ypr on 36 runs last week. QB Justin Lynch added 83 yards on 6 runs but it’s doubtful that performance can be repeated given that he’s averaged 4.8 yards on 53 runs for the season.

If one or both of NIU’s stud running backs is out then the value leans towards Miami (if both are out then I get Miami-Ohio by 3.2 points). Miami’s QB Brett Gabbert is also questionable with an ankle sprain, but he hasn’t been much better than his backup, who has played more snaps this season.
