WASHINGTON (-17.5)  31   Colorado  16 (no Shenault for CU)

Note: CU WR Laviska Shenault has been downgraded to OUT

The key to this game for Colorado is the health of potential All-American WR Laviska Shenault Jr., who leads the nation in receptions and receiving yards for the Buffaloes. CU quarterback Steven Montez is having a great season (70.5% completions and 7.1 yards per pass play with just 3 interceptions) and he’s averaged 10.7 yards on the 73 passes he’s thrown to Shenault, who has caught 60 of them. The other Colorado wide-receivers have combined to average 7.8 yards per target and the difference is about 3 points between Shenault being 100% and Shenault not playing.

I actually lean with Colorado even without Shenault. Washington is a very good team, rating at 1.0 yards per play better than average offensively and 1.2 yppl better than average defensively but the Buffaloes are solid on both sides of the ball (+0.5 yppl on offense and +0.4 yppl better than average defensively) and Montez doesn’t turn the ball over.
