OKLAHOMA STATE (-4)  35   Baylor  31

My metrics rate unbeaten Baylor as a slightly better team so far this season and the Bears win over a very good Iowa State team is better than any of Oklahoma State’s four victories. However, Baylor’s surprisingly good defense (4.5 yards per play allowed to teams that would average 5.2 yppl against an average defense) took a big hit with the season-ending injury to star LB Clay Johnston. Johnston has nearly double the tackles as Baylor #2 tackler (58 tackles to 30) and he has 8 total tackles for loss and 6 passes defended in 6 games, which is very good for a linebacker (actually, it’s good for cornerback too). I value Johnston at 2.4 points, which puts my math right at the market number.
